Universal Orlando’s Update on Universal Epic Universe

Posted by EthanCrossMedia - January 30th, 2024

This morning, Universal Orlando announced their first look at their upcoming 4th theme park, “Universal Epic Universe”.

I’m hyped for Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon, and Harry Potter themed areas, and it will open next year in 2025.

As a longtime Nintendo fan, I would love to see this in person, as the one at Universal Studios Hollywood is far away from me, due to being located in the West Coast side of the U.S. in Los Angeles, CA (where most voice actors (members of SAG-AFTRA) and plushtuber, SuperSonicBlake reside, as I always say, I’m based in the greater Chicago area.

Ooh! Nice to get an update on that! I’m excited too!

Well, same here, as I'm in the Midwest Region (in the greater Chicago, IL area) near the East Coast, as the one at Universal Studios Hollywood is far away, as it's in the West Coast in the Los Angeles, CA area.

@EthanCrossMedia Yeah, I heard you. I saw news going around of Universal doing a deal with The Pokémon Company, do you think that’s still going to be added to Super Nintendo World?

Yes, I heard there was rumors that a new Pokémon attraction would replace The Simpsons Ride at Universal Studios Florida, due to the rights now owned by Disney (as the company purchased 21st Century Fox, including this long-running adult animated cartoon series in 2019) and states that it would close in 2028, but that's just speculation. It is unclear if the one at Universal Studios Hollywood would have the same effect as the Florida version. It opened in May of 2008 at both American Universal theme parks (long before Disney would buy 21st Century Fox).
